Introducing consumption-based pricing at Autm

A fairer, more flexible way to scale AI across your business.

As Autm evolves, so does the way we price it. We're moving towards consumption-based pricing, aligning what businesses pay with how they use Autm and the work it performs.

When we started building Autm, we had a clear vision: to create an intelligent operational layer that helps businesses connect their knowledge, coordinate their people, automate their workflows and make better decisions.

That vision hasn't changed, but the capabilities of AI, and the ways businesses are beginning to use it, are developing at extraordinary speed.

What starts as a tool that helps an individual manage information can quickly become something much more powerful: an interconnected intelligence system working across teams, processes and entire organisations, and we believe the way businesses pay for that intelligence should evolve alongside it.

That's why we're introducing consumption-based pricing for Autm.

At a glance

  • Pricing aligned with usage. Businesses will pay according to their consumption of Autm's AI capabilities, rather than relying solely on fixed subscription tiers and user allowances.

  • Greater flexibility. Expand the ways you use Autm as your business needs evolve, without having to predict every requirement upfront.

  • More transparency. Understand how your organisation is consuming AI resources and what is driving that consumption.

  • A model designed to scale. From everyday operational support to increasingly sophisticated automated workflows, pricing can grow with your actual requirements.

  • A supported transition. We'll work with our existing customers to explain the new arrangements and help them understand what the changes mean for their organisation.

Why we're making this change

Traditional software pricing was built around access. You purchased a subscription, licensed a number of users and gained access to a defined set of features.

That approach made sense when software was largely passive: people logged in, used the tools they needed and logged out again. AI-native software works differently.

Autm doesn't simply wait for someone to ask it a question. It brings together information from across an organisation, identifies relationships, captures decisions and commitments, builds organisational memory and enables intelligent workflows to act on that knowledge.

As businesses make greater use of these capabilities, the amount and complexity of work performed by AI can vary significantly.

One organisation might use Autm primarily to bring together information, prepare for meetings and identify outstanding commitments. Another might have dozens of connected workflows coordinating activities across departments, analysing information and carrying out increasingly complex tasks. Both should be able to benefit from Autm, but their patterns of consumption will be very different.

We believe pricing should reflect those differences, rather than forcing every business into a model designed around fixed assumptions about how software is used.

From software access to operational intelligence

There is a fundamental shift taking place in business technology. For years, the question was: How many people need access to this software? Increasingly, the more important question is: What work can this technology help us accomplish?

AI is changing the relationship between people, technology and work. The value of an intelligent system is no longer determined simply by how many employees log in. It comes from what that system enables the organisation to do.

It might identify a critical commitment buried in an email conversation.

It might connect information from several different systems to give a leadership team a clearer understanding of what is happening across their business.

It might trigger a workflow, surface an emerging risk or coordinate the next steps following a meeting.

And, increasingly, it might carry out entire sequences of work that previously required significant manual intervention.

This is the future we're building Autm for.

Consumption-based pricing creates a commercial foundation that can support this evolution.

More flexibility for growing businesses

One of the challenges with traditional subscription models is that organisations often have to make decisions about capacity before they know how they will use the technology.

How many licences will we need?

Which teams should have access?

Which subscription tier will accommodate our requirements?

What happens if our usage increases?

With consumption-based pricing, we want to make those decisions simpler.

Businesses should be able to start with the capabilities they need, discover where Autm creates the greatest value and expand their use as opportunities emerge.

That might mean connecting additional systems, introducing more sophisticated workflows or extending operational intelligence into other areas of the business.

The objective is straightforward: make it easier to adopt AI in a way that reflects the needs and pace of each organisation.

Transparency and control matter

We recognise that moving to consumption-based pricing also introduces an important responsibility.

Businesses need to understand what they're paying for. They need visibility into their consumption, confidence in how charges are calculated and the ability to make informed decisions about how they use AI.

These principles are central to how we're approaching our new pricing model. We want customers to have a clearer relationship between their AI usage, the resources consumed and the value being created.

Our aim is to make consumption understandable and manageable, so businesses can adopt increasingly capable AI without losing sight of their costs, because flexibility should never come at the expense of confidence.

What does this mean for existing customers?

Our existing customers have been instrumental in helping us shape Autm.

Your feedback, experiences and real-world use cases continue to influence how we develop the platform. As we introduce consumption-based pricing, we want to make the transition as clear and straightforward as possible.

We'll communicate directly with customers about the new pricing structure, how consumption will be measured, when changes will apply and what this means for their existing arrangements.

We'll also help customers understand their current usage and how the new model relates to the ways they're using Autm.

Our priority is to give every customer the information they need to make confident decisions.

We're committed to making this an open, transparent and collaborative transition.

Building for what comes next

We believe the next generation of business software will look very different from the last.

Rather than a collection of disconnected applications that people must continually operate and maintain, organisations will increasingly rely on intelligent systems that understand their context, preserve their knowledge and coordinate work across teams and technologies.

AI will become less of a tool people occasionally use and more of an operational capability embedded throughout the business.

That's the future Autm is being built to support, and as the technology becomes more capable, our commercial model needs to be flexible enough to support the possibilities ahead.

Consumption-based pricing is an important step in that direction. It reflects our belief that businesses should be able to adopt and scale intelligent technology according to their needs, with greater flexibility, transparency and control.

The future of business software isn't simply about access to more tools. It's about enabling more intelligent work, and we want the way you pay for Autm to support that future.

What's next?

We'll be sharing further details about our new consumption-based pricing structure and the transition arrangements with existing customers.
